Fife Women’s Aid
Fife Women’s Aid is a charitable organisation and a company limited by guarantee. It started life as Dunfermline Women’s Aid in 1974 which mainly served the West of Fife. In 1975 Kirkcaldy Women’s Aid was born and served central Fife and Cupar Women’s Aid started in 1992 and served the East of Fife.
In October 2010 the three organisations merged and became Fife Women’s Aid. With shared resources, knowledge, expertise and experience, Fife Women’s Aid became the “go to” organisation in Fife for women experiencing domestic abuse and professionals needing advice or information.
Our Vision is of an equitable society in which women, children and young people are valued participants, able to determine their own future and are free from all forms of abuse.
We welcome service users and staff from all backgrounds including those with the protected characteristics as defined in the Equality Act 2010 of: religion, race, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, or disability. We actively seek to eliminate discrimination, harassment or victimisation on any of these grounds, and to ensure that staff, visitors and service users feel safe, welcomed, valued, included and respected.
