The Children and Young Person’s (CYP) service offers dedicated support to children and young people who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. They support children and young people from 0-18 years old, both girls and boys.
The main aim is to support their emotional and physical wellbeing and to ensure they have access to the relevant services they need to support their development into healthy resilient people. Support is available to CYP living in refuge accommodation or in the community. This includes CYP engaged with MARAC.
Follow-on support is also provided to any children and young people leaving refuge who wish to have continued support after being re-housed.
This support allows children and young people to explore and resolve any issues they have in relation to their experience of domestic abuse in a safe and confidential environment, meeting with a support worker on a one-to-one basis.
Where appropriate children and young people can also access group work developed and run by experienced CYP Support Workers.
Children and young people can self-refer or be referred by their mothers, staff from education, social work, health, police, MARAC, or other voluntary agencies.
To make a referral please call us on our Freephone number 0808 802 5555 or complete the attached referral form and send to [email protected].
