Joint the dots offers support to children, young people and families who have been affected by domestic abuse. The service supports children and young people from birth to 18 years of age, both boys and girls.
The main aim is to support the emotional and physical wellbeing of children and young people and to ensure they have access to the relevant services they need to support their development into healthy resilient people. Support is available to children, young people and their mothers living in refuge accommodation or in the community. This includes children and young people engaged with MARAC.
This support allows children and young people to explore and resolve any issues they have in relation to their experience of domestic abuse in a safe and confidential environment, meeting with a support worker on a one-to-one basis.
We also support mothers who have experienced domestic abuse, helping to develop confidence and parenting skills to create an environment where children can thrive and enjoy their childhood.
We also provide group support sessions online and in venues across Fife.
Children, young people and mothers can self-refer or be referred by staff from education, social work, health, police, MARAC, or other voluntary agencies.
For families who need more help we can offer three or four family support visits each week. We need a social work assessment to support access to this part of the service.
