What is Domestic Abuse
Domestic Abuse is an abuse of power perpetrated by a current or ex-partner and is usually a pattern of incidents of controlling and coercive behaviour. It can be physical or mental. It can be financial control or emotional control. It is overwhelmingly experienced by women and perpetrated by men although we recognise that some men are victims and some women are abusers.
Domestic abuse includes stalking, harassment and coercive control. In addition it includes online abuse and revenge porn. Women of any age, race, religion, sexuality or disability can be a victim.
