I am utterly honoured and proud to be appointed as a trustee of Fife Women’s Aid. I am delighted to join the board, work with other trustees and make the best use of this position and opportunities given to contribute to FWA’s strategic and organisational development.
I am currently leading a Chinese Environmental Technology Company’s first oversea subsidiary company in Scotland, whilst chairing the board of Scotland-China Innovation and Technology Association, a non-for-profit organisation based in Edinburgh.
Prior to my current career path, I spent 15 years in Social Work, including 4 years as a research officer in a Women’s Service and 7 years as a frontline Child Protection Social Worker in Glasgow. My time in Social Work provided me with a profound insight into the strength and courage that women who experienced domestic abuse are carrying everyday in their lives, and the difference that the right service at the right time can make in their journey of recovery and thriving.
It takes immense courage for women who experienced domestic abuse to trust and look for help. And, I am committed to work with my colleagues to develop a responsive, sustainable and resilient service for those resilient individuals and their families in the years ahead.
I live in North Lanarkshire, and I am a mother of a 10 year old boy.
